Jacob is a Conservationist and Natural Sound Recording Artist. Jacob has been fascinated about the natural world for as long as he can remember. His fascination developed into a formal commitment towards the advocacy and protection of our wild spaces. His graduate degree in ecology and evolutionary biology formally shaped his understanding of the intimate workings of nature and as a professional he continues to explore the inherent beauty, as well as our impact and reliance upon it.
Jacob Job
Artist Process
I consider myself a conservationist, communicator, and natural sounds recordist. My graduate degrees in ecology and evolutionary biology formally shaped my understanding of the intimate workings of nature. As a professional, I’ve since looked to explore the inherent beauty of nature, as well as our impact and reliance upon it.
Using high-quality nature recordings and evocative storytelling, I work to provide opportunities for everyone to develop their own personal relationship with the outdoors. Additionally, I seek to better understand our natural heritage and reliance on healthy, natural systems, specifically seeking to engage overlooked and underrepresented groups. Ultimately, I aim to help as many people as possible responsibly connect to our wild places, so we may develop sustainable lifestyles which allow future generations to explore, enjoy, and exist alongside our wild lands.
"I’m passionate about our planet, its wild places, and our connections to them. I’ve been fascinated about the natural world for as long as I can remember. Growing older, that fascination developed into a formal commitment towards the advocacy and protection of our wild spaces." Jacob Job
Our Collaboration
Working with artist and conservationist, Jacob Job, we captured roughly 1,500 hundred hours of the sounds of an Aspen grove on the east side of Estes Park, just outside the burn scar of the East Troublesome Fire. Jacob consolidated the recordings into 24 hour cycles for each of the four seasons. Guest will take a literal audio journey from the moment they step into the elevator and climb from the forest floor of Populus to the top floor of the canopy. These recordings will also be available to listen to in guest rooms and highlight birdsongs, thunderstorms, a running creek, fluttering leaves and more.
Studies show that a variety of sounds from nature decrease anxiety. Studies also show that bird songs may be the most restorative natural sounds of all. They can help reduce stress and give your brain and nervous system a rest, alleviate anxiety and bring joy.

Songs and Sounds of Nature
Elevator | Rooms + SuitesAudio Recording
While exploring various artistry concepts within the space (smell, touch, taste, sight) it is evident that you can not sit within a forest without hearing sounds of birds, the wind rustling leaves, or a nearby creek. Sounds that truly transports you into the natural environment became the goal of this artistic endeavor.
