Aren has had a lifelong passion for woodworking. With a degree in Architecture and 3-D Design from Washington University in St. Louis, Aren has been working with wood in some form or another for over 25 years. Building his skills with many different cabinet and furniture shops along the way, from Seattle to Albuquerque to Vermont, he now owns his own custom woodworking company in North Boulder, CO. His work ranges from custom cabinets and mill work, to elegant entry doors, to “artful” furniture pieces. Aren has also taught woodworking and design to students ranging from 4th grade up through high school and continues to offer occasional workshops for students interested in learning the extremely rewarding craft of woodworking.

Artist Process
Aren has a fully developed understanding and passion for the craft, bridging the gap between the design and building worlds. Collaborating with architects, designers, contractors, as well as the homeowners, Aren looks for challenges when creating new and exciting designs. And when these ideas are combined with his honed woodworking skills, pride of craftsmanship, and tireless work ethic, the result is a project that is indeed an artful invention.
Aren takes pride in having a hand in all phases of the project, from design through installation. Everything is built and finished in his shop in Boulder, Colorado. There is no outsourcing of parts, or subbing out installation. The expectation is to reach and deliver the highest levels of quality.
